Video Link: Heart of Gloom
Again, nothing too great happened here. In the first ten minutes anyway. I finally show off Disengage, which I like a whole lot more since I realized it has range. I use it in a few spots this video, where it does me not a lot of good but that's partially due to the situation and some part due to the map layout.
Lots of mistakes in this one, mostly starting at the 10 minute mark. You might notice that the first two floors are done by that time, so that should tell you how well the third floor went. I managed to convince myself that the shadow that showed up was the rare mob's doing and get myself cornered. My stamina management leaves a lot to be desired here, and I dunno if it was just skill use or some of the random debuffs from the map but it seemed like I was burning through it a lot faster than normal. Either way, I painted myself into a corner and it was sheer stupid will and luck that I pull through, although perhaps something could be said for my target prioritization as well.
Another dumb mistake: I put on my water breathing necklace before a rest, somehow thinking that it was the necklace with +stam regen that I transmorged probably two videos ago now. This is after I transmogrify a pair of boots that also had +stam regen. I took five minute to look at the addons and I see there's a quicker rest addon, which I will be using with future characters so all the resting isn't so tedious and time consuming.
Withering Thing is kind enough to leave us the Withering Orbs, which I pocket but don't put on. No, I don't know why, and I will rectify that next video. Also next video: Shopping! I'm so sick of this 6 range bow and we're right next to Shatur, so I'm grabbing the first damn 7+ range bow I can find. So many times in this episode do I try to shoot things from further than I can.
Not a lot to say about skills this time. Finally got a point into Thick Skin. I opted to stop putting extra points into Flare and Crippling Shot and instead drop one into Spell Shield and the pre-reqs. Still have one class point banked, so I may drop it into Spell Shield before I do Rhaloren Camp and/or Kor'Pul.
Still sitting on 3 generic points. I'm tempted to just get Heightened Sense, but there are still so many escorts waiting for me that it's probably too soon. More Track would also be nice, but I can't sell myself on it just yet. I think I'd rather save them for now so I can invest in the important things as they come available, and worry about the frivolous things afterwards.
We did finally get to gray dexterity, so expect to see more Con investments at some levels to follow. I'm also thinking about putting points in Str or Willpower; I'm at least interested in considering Superpower for this character, but oddly enough that's a Str Prodigy so that means potentially spreading my points around pretty thin. I can get it with gear, of course, but that always feels a bit dishonest. I guess we'll see when the time comes.
