MrD Norgos

Videos:
Norgos Lair pt 1
Norgos Lair pt 2

So the first two videos of the series cover Norgos' lair. I'd like to do it all at once, but 15 minute limits are real and I'm not so hot for the phone verification thing. These are also both pretty horrible videos, if I'm being quite honest, but I'll do better in the future.

The real drag about the videos is that the second on crops off everything interesting that happened in the first 3~ minutes, which is all that really mattered. I went to Norgos3 at the start and the basic layout was thus:

W
N
A

Where A = my Archer, N = Norgos, and W = a Warrior escort. I have never seen such a terrible layout in my life. If even Norgos and the warrior had been in reverse order, I would've swapped spots with the warrior and just tanked Norgos to have a shot at saving the escort. Alas, he died pretty quickly to the giant bear and a snake add. This did mean that Norgos was pretty simple to kill since he was distracted most of the fight, but it was quite disappointing. Eden's Guile was the only yellow drop, but that's not a bad start all the same.

Skills so far:

For Class talents, we're 2/1/0/0 in Archery - Bows, 3 points in Steady Shot, 2 points in Flare, and 1 in Crippling Shot.

You might also notice that I pulled points out of Flare at each level; this is so that every point in Flare other than the first is part of the last four points I spend. Since I'm going for Excellence, I have to adapt my core plans around trying to get Strangling Shot when it becomes available at 22. That means sacrificing points I would've placed elsewhere, like Flare and Spell Shield. Blind isn't that important of a status even in the beginning, especially since it takes so many points to actually get it, so it's the obvious skill to pass on.

I may also delay getting Dual and Volley until after 22, but that will depend on how much I need Spell Shield.

On the Generic side, I so far have a point in Wrath of the Woods and 2 points in Combat Accuracy, with 3 points banked. I also took Call of the Wild from a betrayed Seer. I'm not sure it was worth taking, but will give access to a heal and a second (worse) tracking still, so we'll decide on that later. I won't have the category point to unlock it until 20 anyway since the first is already spent on Excellence.

Gear

We're doing pretty well on gear for just one dungeon. Finding green arrows or a bow at the start of a run is pretty great, but finding both is just insane. Between the two, we're getting +10 Acid damage, 8% acid damage, +2 str, +5 physical power, and acid splash on crit. That's really not bad for the first dungeon. I'd like to find a bow with better range as soon as possible, but so far I have no complaints.

Eden's Guile is also a decent find. I'm pretty terrible at remembering to use items like that, but it's on my mind to do better this run so maybe it'll pan out well. We also have a water breathing necklace already, so as soon as we do the Old Wood, we can jump right to Lake Nur. I usually take that route when I have the chance, just to get a headstart on the Fortress events.
